This is an opportunity to work alongside children, families, community members and Aboriginal Family Wellness Workers to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed support that strengthens relationships, promotes healing and supports positive outcomes for families.

  • Competitive salary package up to $102,500 plus superannuation.

Why You’ll Love This Role

You will work alongside families accessing the Family & Community Wellness Service to understand their strengths, identify challenges and support pathways towards healing and wellbeing.

This role provides the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with children and caregivers experiencing complex challenges while delivering high-quality case management through respectful, culturally safe and family-centred practice.

You will be responsible for:
  • Providing therapeutic and intensive family support using trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches.
  • Working collaboratively with Aboriginal Family Wellness Workers to strengthen outcomes for children and families.
  • Supporting families to identify their strengths, goals and preferred pathways for healing.
  • Building trusting relationships that promote safety, resilience and family wellbeing.
  • Undertaking case management, care planning and coordinated service delivery.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external service providers to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate case notes, reports and client records.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary case discussions and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Advocating for culturally safe and family-centred approaches across service systems.
The Organisation

This Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation provides a range of integrated health and community programs, including Primary Health Care, Aged and Community Care, Family and Community Wellness, and Alcohol and Other Drugs Services.

Essential Criteria
  • Qualifications in Social Work or Counselling.
  • Current registration with the relevant professional body.
  • Experience supporting children and families affected by trauma, adversity or involvement with child protection services.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice.
  • Experience working alongside Aboriginal communities in a culturally respectful manner.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote community setting.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Current Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
  • Must have full Australian working rights (i.e., Australian Citizenship, Permanent Residency, a valid Working Visa, or New Zealand Citizenship).
