About The Role
We are looking for a Procurement Officer to join our friendly Procurement team in Newcastle. Reporting to a Category Manager this role is responsible for supporting the Procurement Category team in the delivery of procurement activities across the business. The role assists with sourcing goods and services, maintaining supplier relationships, managing procurement records and systems, and ensuring compliance with procurement policies and processes. The Procurement Officer also reviews and maintains procurement data and information to support reporting, analysis and informed decision-making, while contributing to value for money and effective procurement outcomes.

What You'll do
• Supporting the wider team with procurement planning, contract renewals and preferred supplier agreements
• Prepare requests for quotation (RFQs), requests for tender (RFTs), and requests for proposal (RFPs).
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, tenders, and proposals.
• Participate in commercial negotiations to secure favourable pricing and contractual terms.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
• Ensure appropriate record keeping and compliance with company policies and delegation of authority.
• Maintain accurate data in Salesforce and support the Category team with procurement documentation, registers and reporting.
• Analyse and review data to prepare reports as directed.

What You'll Bring
The successful applicant will possess:
• Previous experience in a procurement or purchasing role
• Background in mining, resources, construction, energy or a related industrial sector (desirable)
• ERP systems (SAP) experience (desirable)
• Good with excel and comfortable working through data
• Clear, professional communication and the ability to build trust with stakeholders at all levels, working collaboratively with team members.
• Well organised and able to manage a busy workload of competing priorities
• Relevant qualifications in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Commerce or related discipline. CIPS or equivalent qualification (desirable)
